Getting Your Hauling Done With A Pickup Truck
Author: admin
Whether you need to haul heavy cargo items or transport everyday luggage or move packages to another place, getting a pick up truck could be just the right thing for you to do. Pick up trucks are sturdy looking automobiles with an open cabin in the top rear area. This vehicle has become popular among today’s car owners for its domestic and commercial utility and flexibility.
Pickup trucks have commercial features like a separate cabin and compartment cargo bed or the rear load area. There are also pickup truck designs that display a well-type build with rigid short sides that comes with an opened rear gate while other designs that has a flat tray back or the so-called flatbed. There are also other special features such as having a mounted specialty body just next to cabin area. Each of these designs may be customized to serve a specific purpose or conventional use of the pickup truck.
Since trucks have gained huge public approval, many car companies today have already started offering pickup truck rentals where the features and services of the vehicle are suited according to your demand. So if you are in need of a pickup truck service and you have to choose from among many options, it is best to know first the services they offer.
You can start by making an assessment of how much transporting help you need. The size of the pickup truck must be equivalent to the load of your cargo. Once you have in mind the right size of the pick truck that you just need, you can start calculating the total costs of the rental service. You do not intend to pay too much, do you?
There are also pickup truck rentals which cover the entire transport service only, which technically means that you will pack the cargoes on your own and haul it into the truck instead of paying the transport company to pack up the luggage for you. This will significantly minimize your hauling expenses. But if you mind the long delay and effort in the packing up, you can just go for the packing and loading services all combined in one.
Because of the growing competition among pickup truck companies, transport service providers keep on upgrading their services for the clientele to ensure loyal and continued patronage. In order to maximize the expenses you will have to spend on the cargo transport service, you need to choose a company that would provide accessory features like security blankets and furniture pads to avoid glitches on your luggage and packages, tie-down straps that will put your cargoes in place during the transport process and some loading ramps in order to make the unloading part a lot more easier and systematic when you finally reach your destination.
The total cost of a pickup truck service is usually based on calculated rates of the total distance traveled, the space consumed by the cargoes and the maximum weight. However since we are not talking about easy money you spend for the transport service of your cargoes, it is best to understand the rules in the rates game. Coming unprepared and clueless will take its toll on you because you might be paying more than what you actually need to for the freight charges. Basically since the rental rates are based on the calculated space occupied by the packed goods, there is a need for you to measure your cargoes appropriately based on the floor space.

Mack Trucks are Back And Stronger Than Ever

When your sights laser in on a pugnacious little bulldog blazing down the street, what is the first thought that crosses your mind? Well, if you are semi truck driver, you will leap and yell ‘Hey! That’s Mack!’ Bull Dog is a trademark of Mack Trucks Inc, an old horse in the trucking world. Mack Trucks Inc is known for building heavy-duty trucks that are capable of enduring a punishing terrain and the vagaries of nature.
The journey of Mack Trucks began in 1893 when the Mack brothers, Jack and Augustus, bought over Fallesen & Berry factory. Soon, the Macks started experimenting with various steam and electric motor cars. Inspired by the inventions taking place all around him, Jack envisioned the building of heavy -duty trucks and thus began an eventful journey. The first product from the house of Macks was a bus, which was used by sightseeing concessionaire Harris and McGuire, for eight years before it was converted into a truck. The success of this bus egged the Mack brothers to continue with truck development. However, old Mack trucks were known as ‘Manhattan Trucks’ as the brothers had sought a different name to distinguish the trucks from their other business, viz. their horse-drawn carriages.
In the early 1900s, Mack Trucks became famous as ever-reliable trucks that could easily endure rugged terrains. Soon enough, the brothers engaged in adding new features that would enhance the safety and comfort aspect of the driver. For instance, Mack Truck Inc. were the first truck manufacturers to introduce a constant mesh feature that protected gears from being damaged or stripped by inexperienced drivers.
Pick-Up Trucks,Gun Racks and Aggression on the Road

The recent supreme court ruling, which affirmed the right to bear arms and that interpreted the second amendment in a very pro-NRA kind of way, reminded me of one of my favorite old studies. In this 1975 study by Turner and his colleagues, they manipulated the situation so that a pick-up truck at a stop light was slow to start moving after the light turned green. They measured aggression by how quickly and how intensely the driver behind the truck started honking. Turner and his colleagues varied two things about the pick-up truck: a gun rack with or without a gun, and two different bumper stickers. One said “friend” and the other said “vengeance.” It is an interesting study because many people — including me — predict in advance that the gun and vengeance stickers would lead to do less honking, as the impatient driver waiting behind the truck might fear getting shot by the aggressive and armed person. In fact, Turner and his colleagues found the opposite pattern. The drivers stuck behind the truck were more likely to honk when the driver had a gun, and even more likely to honk when he had both a gun and a vengeance bumper sticker! One explanation is that aggression breeds aggression.
People in RVs must vacate downtown

Homeless individuals who have been living in campers and recreational vehicles parked on downtown streets have until the end of the month to move or face sanctions from the city of Olympia.
The ban on parking RVs on city streets was passed by the Olympia City Council unanimously.
A city staff report summed up the situation: “These trailers and their occupants take up parking spaces designed for visitors and customers, operate power generators on sidewalks which create noise pollution, store gasoline cans next to the generators and, in some instances, dump raw sewage onto city streets. In general, they create a permanent living space on a public right-of-way to the exclusion of the general public and potentially pose a public health and safety issue.”
While some might argue that the campers have not had sufficient time to relocate, the fact is there are fewer than a dozen recreational vehicles involved, and several already have been relocated. The certainty of a deadline gives homeless advocates sufficient time to assist the remaining campers.
The City Council worked through this difficult issue quickly, clarified the new law in several areas and have given campers since mid-May to find alternative arrangements.
Should You Buy a Luxury Car
Author: admin
Well-off people normally have more than one car. They have cars for work and they have cars for special occasions. The special occasion cars are usually luxury cars that cost several times as much as a regular sedan. The question is should you be buying luxury cars at all?
Some people prefer luxury cars over a sedan. And there are simply too many cars in the market claiming to be one even if they are short on certain features. So before you fall for these claims hook, line, and sinker, it is best that you know what a luxury vehicle really is and what is not.
Leather seats and an exceptional stereo system don’t make a car a luxury vehicle. Keep in mind that luxury cars are not built overnight. More than the make and model of the car, these vehicles require years of planning and design. And so the companies that are worthy to release luxury cars are only those who have been in the automotive industry for a long time. It would be an added plus it they have already proven their worth in that particular line.
Lexus cars and Rolls Royce are good examples of luxury cars. But before you go ahead and purchase these vehicles, you’ve got to ask yourself if you can afford it. If you can’t, would you settle for a second-hand? Luxury car manufacturers imply that if you’re asking for the price of a luxury vehicle prior to buying it, chances are, you can’t afford it. So unless you can go up to a million on one luxury car, it is not worth asking whether or not you should buy one or not.
Why do you have to buy a luxury car in the first place? This is the most important question of all. Would like to buy one because you want to look better off among your friends and colleagues? Would you like to impress somebody? Or do you simply like to own one, park it around the house, and pull it off the garage whenever you want to arrive in style at some place? While these are all good reasons to buy luxury cars, they are not sufficient enough to justify the price of these vehicles. Even if you’re buying a second-hand, it is still advisable that you go for a brand new sedan that performs better than a run-down BMW.
Luxury cars are expensive because they have lots of extras. For one thing, driving these cars is a lot more comfortable than driving anything else. The cabin is very comfortable and it is a quiet ride all the time. You’ll never hear the noise of the engine as you drive it. Also, the body of the car is impeccable. No flaws or inferior materials used whatsoever. Luxury cars are cars made for the king. And that’s why they’re priced for the king too.
Maintaining such cars can be a pain in the pocket as well. This is yet another point to consider when buying luxury cars. Are you prepared to buy twice as much gas? Would you have the time and the means to leave the car at an expensive car care center for regular checkups? Keep in mind that your cash out would not be over after the purchase the car. Expect to spend more as you go along.
Comparing RV Brands
Author: admin
Purchasing an RV requires plenty of careful thought and planning. It takes more than visiting the closest lot and writing a check; it takes deliberation and thought. There are plenty of comparison guides to help with this decision and the internet is a good resource as well. When comparing RVs it is important to compare similar RVs with one another. You certainly would not compare a Class A to a Fifth Wheel and vice versa. Keep the comparison in the same category.Size and weight tend to be common factors, so see if one brand offers more than the other. For instance, a forty-five foot RV could offer just two bedrooms in one brand and three bedrooms in the next, and if you have use and need for that extra room, then your decision is made. After buying your first RV, you will come to better understand what you need and even develop a loyalty to the brand that fits you best.
Features alone should not control how you compare the RV. How well they treat their customers, their warranty policy, and how fast they can take care of any problems need to also be considered. For answers to these concerns, it is advisable to ask other RVers who have first hand knowledge. Some will relate horror stories and cautionary tales, and others will sing the praises and may do so for the brand that you were just warned against. Weigh each testimonial carefully before settling on a brand.Another factor to consider is if the brands
you are comparing will be able to meet the same needs. You do not want to get stuck with something that does not suit you. If you are going to be a full timer, consider brands that cater to this lifestyle. If you are going to only stay on the road one or two months or less, find a brand that is best. Two of the most popular RV brands on the market today are Winnebago and Fleetwood.Winnebago is a trusted manufacturer of RVs and have been around for several decades. Fleetwood has been around since the mid-twenties. Both of the brands are trusted by most RVers. Both manufacturers feature deluxe models as well as towed RVs. Their customer service is well received.Winnebago and Fleetwood are constantly innovating and improving the RV and it may be a good idea to start your RV search with these brands, as they tend to offer something for everybody.

The 2008 Kawasaki

The 2008 Kawasaki ZX-10, also called the Ninja ZX-10R, is all about performance, on the streets, or tearing up the track. The 2008 Ninja ZX-10R was born on the track, and the results were painstakingly transferred to the street-legal version, in this all-around fantastic version of a 1000CC sportbike! Not a lot of motorcycles can be taken on day one of ownership and deliver this amount of pure excitement, but the ZX-10R truly does!
Kawasaki, and their engineers, have employed a liquid cooled, 998CC, Dual Overhead Camshaft engine, with four valves per cylinder, that pushes out 83.2 foot-pounds of torque at 8,700 rpm. Weight was dropped from the engine by cutting channels in the crankcase, eliminating oil lines, and also adding a lighter crankshaft. Kawasaki added new secondary fuel injectors that helped to add top-end performance, along with reshaping the intake and exhaust ports. Kawasaki has always been a leader in ram-air induction, and this model has an even better system now due to re-shaping the velocity stacks and intake duct, which improves the flow of the air to the engine.
The dual front brakes have semi-floating 310mm discs, with dual four-piston radial mounted calipers. The rear brakes have a single 220mm disc with a single-piston aluminum caliper. The chassis is a twin-spar frame that has been re-designed to make it stronger around the swingarm pivot, and the swingarm has been re-designed with a top-mounted stabilizer to improve stability at high speeds.
The 2008 ZX-10R Ninja is a world-class motorcycle with a legendary history of racing success. Kawasaki did not forget their history with Kawasaki’s legendary green color, a must for the Kawasaki rider! Either on the street or track, this bike will blow you away
Ten Classic Muscle Cars

Buick GS became recognised as a standalone model available as a sedan and convertible.
The 1970 model was given a monstrous 7.5 litre engine capable of producing 400bhp. The GSX body came in yellow or white only, adding to the image which made this car a distinct classic.
The 1967 Chevrolet Camaro
There were various options available to those purchasing a first generation Camaro, the Z28 package being the most exciting. With a 4.9 litre engine, power steering, disc brakes on the front and a four speed manual gearbox, the Z28 was made for racing – producing up to 400bhp.
The Plymouth Roadrunner
Built to beat 14 seconds over a quarter mile, the Plymouth Roadrunner was stripped down to the bare essentials, sacrificing even the carpets in order to make this into a beast of a machine. It featured a beefed up steering, brake and suspension systems and a 6.3 litre engine which pushed 335bhp. An optional boost came from the 7.0 litre version’s 425bhp.
The Dodge Challenger
Hitting the market in 1970, the Dodge Challenger was a hit from the get go, selling more than 80,000 in the first year. Although various options were made available, the R/T is the model which attracts the most attention with its 7.0 litre Hemi engine kicking out 425bhp. Later models lost the plot, with the ’72 model dropping to a measly 240bhp. See the Challenger in the cult classic movie, Vanishing Point.
The 1966 Ford Fairlane GTLaunched in ’62 with a 3.6 litre V8, the Ford Fairlane was given a makeover in 1966, complete with a 6.4 litre engine capable of 335bhp. As if this were not enough they decided to upgrade to a 7.0 litre NASCAR engine with 435bhp. Rigid front suspension and disc brakes gave the car better handling, and the brute power kicked the dial over 60mph (100km/h) in six seconds.
Oldsmobile 442
The Cutlass model was equipped with a police specification engine capable of 310bhp. The 442 refers to the four barrel carburettor, four speed manual gear box and the twin exhausts. The 442 had a reputation for its handling when compared to other muscle cars, thanks to its improved springs, shocks and the comforting safety of an anti-roll bar.
The 1968 edition was redesigned as a shapely coupe, with a 7.5 litre block blasting 390bhp.Plymouth BarracudaAlthough the Barracuda was launched in 1964, just a couple of weeks before the Ford Mustang, it was not until 1970 that Plymouth gained wider popularity with sexy lines and some serious growl under the hood in the form of a 7.2 litre 390bhp. The other choice was a smaller 7.0 litre Hemi block which knocked out some extra power at 425bhp!
Even with a revamped suspension the power was so much that the ‘Cuda gained a reputation for difficult handling.
The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SSThe 1965 Chevelle SS sported a 6.5 litre block pushing 375bhp, which was all too much for the front end of the car, making for some pretty horrible handling. Luckily this was addressed with the revamping of the suspension and the addition of disk brakes on the front.
1969 saw the introduction of the top engine spec, which was featured in the El Camio pick-up as well. The 1970 SS was powered by a 7.4 litre V8 with 450bhp pulling the Chevell to 100km/h in just six seconds. Later models were adjusted for unleaded fuel and the power output suffered considerably.Dodge ChargerBo and Duke’s ride of choice, the Charger was launched in 1966 and some 37,000 cars were sold in the first year. A 7.0 litre Hemi reputedly kicked out around 500bhp, though it was officially rated at 425bhp. This monster reached 100km/h in just five and a half seconds. The Hemi engine option was available until 1972
Four Popular Types of Limousine

Choosing the right limousine is often an important factor to many people, so it’s a good thing there are a wide variety to choose from. When looking for the limo that suits your tastes, remember to ask yourself questions such as how many or few passengers will be riding with you, what kind of ambiance you prefer, what your budget is and any other questions you might have.
While there are numerous types of limousines available, four of the most popular are the Ford Excursion stretch limo, the Party Bus or Land Yacht, the 2006 Chrysler 300 stretch limo and the H2 Hummer stretch limo. Ford Excursion Stretch Limo
The Ford Excursion stretch limo can be as much as 140 ft. long with a far larger capacity for passengers than a standard limousine. Most limo service companies ensure that it comes with full amenities, including a high-end sound system full bar and several LCD color TV’s.
